2011/12 FLY-TYING CLASSES

Classes will be held on Wednesday nights from 6-9 pm. The cost of the classes are $15 and will include all the materials needed for the night. Season passes will also be available for $150. For more information call the shop at (978)-948-7004

November 30th – Nat & Derek will start the year out with some of their favorite local saltwater patterns. The class will be designed as a “dust off the vise” class and will cover the basics of saltwater fly tying.

December 7th – Mike Rice of Mud Dog Flies (http://www.muddogflies.com) will join us with some of his favorite saltwater patterns designed for stripers, bluefish and false albacore.

December 14th – Les Hilyard will dazzle us with some of his favorite Rangeley Lake region favorites. Les is the co-author of Carrie Stevens: Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies.

December 21st – JJ Shields will lead a class on tying flies for our local sea run trout fishery.

December 28th – No Class

January 4th – Dan Harrison, a trout guide on the Deerfield and Millers Rivers (http://www.harrisonanglers.com), will come and share some of his favorite patterns for these two great local fisheries.

January 11th – Pat Brown will teach some of his favorite New England trout patterns.

January 18th – Joe Calcavecchia (http://www.saltwatercustomflies.com) will demonstrate how to tie some of his favorite striper flies including the very deadly Striper Dragon.

January 25th – Rick Little of Shad Creek Flies will come and tie some of his favorite streamer and nymph patterns for trout in New England.

February 1st – Skip Montello (http://www.northcoastangler.com) will tie a few new articulated striper patterns and some Alaskan silver salmon flies.

February 8th – Eliot Jenkins (http://www.greasybeaksflyfishing.com ) will share with us some of his favorite saltwater patterns including some flies that were particularly effective on false albacore this past fall.

February 15th – JJ Shields will return to tie some of his favorite local largemouth and pickerel flies.

February 22nd – Leon Piasecki will join us and tie up some of his favorite saltwater patterns.
