Sat. 4/7

Postby Sea Dog » Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:16 pm

Hey Guy's,

Heading out Sat for the season opener. I'm planning to head out of Gloucester Harbor around 11 AM for Cod, Haddock, etc. I have only a 21' CC and predictions are looking a bit windy and choppy, so far.

If I bag that plan, are there any suggestions for options, like flounder around Gloucester somewhere? Actually, any light gear fishing suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Peter

If the wind is bad, I like Beverly / Manchester with more protection from big seas and the wind. There may be some flounder moving around and even some hold over stripers...

Did go out Sat. Blynman Bridge was down so we couldn’t get to the harbor. Went out to Ipswich Bay but it was too windy, choppy and cold. Dropped hook in a few spots in the river and tried to find any fish on the bottom or swimming the tide but not a single thing was there… still nice to get off the dock.
