East Of The Bank

Postby codfish2 » Sat Jun 30, 2012 10:06 pm

I fished east of the bank today with a charter for groundfish, ran 25 miles hoping I would see some sign of charlie and thinking that maybe it would be a good place to troll for tuna later in the week. Not much life ,no whales, very few boats out that way.I had a good day and my charter did well with cod.haddock in the deep water until the dogs found us after the tide change.I looked over the side and saw what looked like a mako tryin steal a fish on the way up ,made a few very fast passes and then left us alone,no charge for the extra entertainment.Great day on the water, not sure which way to head for a trolling trip this coming week.
Also glad to provide the board with extra entertainment, googan, googin who knows
When the fishing picks up we will all have less time on our hands.Good luck tight lines

Hey, thanks for the update, wonder if it was a porbeagle or mako? BTW, not everyone shares the bird guy's sentiment, especially if you ran it by Derek first, welcome aboard.

Hey,thanks for the welcome.I was at the dock this morning and spoke to another charter boat captain that was out near me yesterday,we think what we saw was a Great white.I know last year a boat hooked one and put it on Y-Tube.

I fished the bank today from the northern to southern end with no sign of charlie all day. Did see lots of bait and whales on the southern end, but that was it.
